Migrante BC is a grassroots, volunteer-powered organization serving Filipino immigrants and migrant workers throughout Vancouver, BC and British Columbia. We provide comprehensive support and advocacy for migrant workers facing workplace exploitation, immigration concerns, and labor trafficking. Our services include free, private, and confidential consultations for individuals experiencing workplace abuse, wage theft, and fraudulent recruitment practices. We have successfully led class action lawsuits against exploitative employers, most notably the landmark Denny's workers case, recovering unpaid wages and securing worker regularization. Our team offers workshops for workplaces and community organizations to educate workers about their rights and protections under Canadian labor law. We maintain Bahay Migrante, a safe space providing subsidized housing and support services for at-risk migrant Filipinos in need of immediate assistance. Migrante BC operates multiple campaigns addressing fair wages, adequate benefits, labor trafficking prevention, and immigration status protection. We work collaboratively with allied organizations and other migrant groups to strengthen our advocacy efforts. Our current initiatives include the Justice4VictimsOfTPLC campaign, supporting victims of fraudulent recruitment agencies.
