Filipino-American Community of Southern Colorado

The Filipino-American Community of Southern Colorado, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is a comprehensive non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Filipino heritage while serving the broader community. Since its founding in 1993, FACSC has established itself as a vital resource for cultural education, youth development, and community support throughout Southern Colorado. FACSC provides extensive educational initiatives, with forty percent of organizational funding dedicated to scholarships and education programs. Since 1996, the organization has awarded scholarships to high school graduates annually, with approximately 2-3K distributed each year to support academic achievement. Beyond scholarships, FACSC hosts mentorship programs and annual events specifically designed to teach Filipino heritage and culture to members of all ages. The organization also facilitates consulate outreach, veterans assistance, medical support, and mental health services through dedicated ambassadors and liaisons. FACSC demonstrates strong commitment to women's empowerment through its annual Little Miss, Miss, and Mrs. Fil-Am Pageant series, which promotes participant confidence and self-esteem while generating funds for community initiatives. The women of FACSC have raised over 250K since the organization's inception, supporting thousands of Filipinos and Filipino Americans locally and in the Philippines, particularly during natural disasters and emergencies.
