Anakbayan New Jersey

Anakbayan New Jersey is a youth and student organization based in Jersey City, NJ, dedicated to educating, organizing, and mobilizing communities to address critical issues affecting Filipinos in the United States and the Philippines. Operating as a comprehensive National Democratic mass organization, Anakbayan New Jersey works to arouse and engage young people around issues of genuine freedom, democracy, and social justice. The organization brings together youth workers, students, professionals, women, migrants, and community members from diverse backgrounds to contribute to meaningful social change. Founded on November 30, 1998, Anakbayan New Jersey carries forward the principles and traditions of progressive youth organizing, standing firmly for national freedom and democracy while addressing the immediate and long-term needs of young people. The organization has successfully mobilized thousands of youth across New Jersey through its chapters and campaigns, including advocacy work around immigration reform, workers' rights, and opposition to forced migration. Anakbayan New Jersey integrates youth sector struggles with broader community movements, uniting efforts with allied organizations and networks throughout the state.
